Lewis Pipe Band logoStornoway, the principal town of the Island of Lewis in the Western Isles of Scotland, is home of the Lewis Pipe Band. The Band parade in the town centre every Saturday evening from the end of May till the end of August, weather permitting!

The Lewis Pipe Band currently competes in Grade 3A and are the current European Champions following our success at the event in 2016. The year 2017 will also see the Band compete again at the European Championships, as well as making our debut at the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton.

As well as competing, the Band plays at a variety of events and gala days throughout the Western Isles, including agricultural shows, the Hebridean Celtic Festival, Lewis Carnival, the Fireworks Display at New Year and many other events throughout the island.

The Band is purely a voluntary body, and a registered charity, the Members receive no payment for their services, and is totally dependent on public support for its continued existence.

Competing in the Cowal Championship is the highlight of the piping season for many pipers and drummers, the was first held in 1906 and attracts bands from all over the world.
